Fidelity National Information Services enters mobile banking

Fidelity National Information Services Inc. has introduced mobile banking services for its institutional clients.

The Jacksonville, FL-based company has partnered with ClairMail Inc. and mFoundry to debut a mobile banking and bill pay product suite, FIS Mobile Banking and bill pay.

"Banks have been seeing a high demand for mobile banking services and are looking to their technology providers for a comprehensive and easily integrated solution," said David Thompson, vice president of marketing for ClairMail, Novato, CA.

"Fidelity is now making it simple for their network of 9,000 banks of all sizes to offer their customers two-way mobile banking and payments capabilities on the mobile format of their choosing whether it's SMS text, mobile Web or downloadable client application," he said.

The services cover mobile banking through SMS text, mobile Web and downloadable applications.

FIS offers technology services to more than 9,000 financial institutions in 80 countries.

The company provides card issuer and transaction outsourcing services, mortgage loan processing and mortgage-related information products, and outsourcing services to financial institutions, retailers, mortgage lenders and real estate professionals.

FIS' news comes soon after ClairMail and mFoundry announced a partnership.

ClairMail's two-way mobile banking and payments platform and SMS text and mobile Web services have been integrated with mFoundry's downloadable Spotlight application.

With this integration, FIS will have one platform to implement, manage and support that it can offer clients.

Also, the ClairMail platform will enable wake-up of the mFoundry application and its Event Engine for user-defined, two-way actionable alerts.
