CBSSports.com gives fans complete coverage of basketball championship via mobile app

CBSSports.com is letting fans experience the 2013 NCAA Division I Men?s basketball championship across Web, tablet and smartphone screens.

Through the effort, users can get instant access to their brackets, insight from bracketology experts and check out the latest in-game coverage. The app is available in Apple?s App Store and Google Play.

?The CBS Sports app is built to be the ultimate companion app for sports,? said Jason Kint, senior vice president and general manager of CBSSports.com, New York.

?We focused on lightning fast access to scores and news, and GameTrackers, which include personalization and social integration,? he said. ?We don't think there is a better-designed app for sports fans.

?With the tournament, this means immediate access to tweets, brackets, standings, schedules and more.

Mobile championship
The app lets users access all CBSSports.com bracket games and view a live NCAA Tournament bracket.

Users can also check out expert picks, along with lightning-fast scores and stats, live play-by-play and in-progress game tweets.

The new iPhone version features live streaming of games and events available on CBSSports.com, including the Big Ten Men?s basketball tournament semifinals and championship on March 17-18.

?We have the good fortune of being home of the NCAA Tournament so CBS Sports is already on everyone's minds whether it be TV, CBS Sports Network, CBSSports.com or our mobile apps,? Mr. Kint said.

Key features
Through the app, fans can access multiple bracket games, including a Bracket Challenge, which lets fans fill out three brackets, share with friends and compete against everyone.

There is also the Bracket Manager, that lets users create, customize and manage bracket groups.

Finally, there is the Round by Round, which lets fans pick each of the six rounds, eliminating busted brackets.

?Mobile for CBS Sports is another platform for our brand,? Mr. Kint said.

?Like CBSSports.com, CBS Sports Network and CBS Sports Radio it's a 24/7 live sports platform that can give fans instant access to the latest in sports.?
