I was convinced Samsung was off its rocker when I saw the first Galaxy Note phablet in 2011. While most smartphone makers were expanding phones to comfortably fit in a human hand, Samsung decided to release one closer in size to a Times Square billboard.

U.S. Qualcomm Inc agreed to buy CSR Plc for $2.5 billion, offering what it hopes is a knock-out blow to win the British Bluetooth specialist which is growing in areas like automotive and wearable devices.

Danni Ackerman, an antiques merchant in Las Vegas, sells collectibles on eBay Inc.?s online marketplace and gets paid through its PayPal unit. Now that EBay plans to separate those businesses, Ackerman has one reaction: relief.
