As Apple?s mobile operating system matures, each year?s version brings new capabilities and challenges for developers. Last year?s iOS 7 launch meant app makers had to redesign their apps to fit Apple?s new aesthetic, a hefty undertaking for some. But with iOS 8, the challenge is centered more around functionality.

European broadcaster RTL Group is buying control of online fashion channel StyleHaul, stepping up its involvement in Google's YouTube platform in the race to reach younger audiences less attracted to traditional media. 

Verizon Communications Inc. and AT&T Inc., firing back at Sprint Corp.?s discount data offer, have introduced another round of price cuts on shared wireless plans as carriers continue to fight for new subscribers. Starting today, Verizon is cutting its $100 10-gigabyte plan to $80 a month and its $110 15-gigabyte to $100 a month.

French advertising company Publicis Groupe SA has offered to buy U.S.-based Sapient for $3.7 billion in cash as it seeks to speed up its transformation into a digital-technology company and bounce back from its failed attempt to merge with rival Omnicom Group Inc.
