Heads up, Pinterest fanatics: the social pinboard service is rolling out a handy new visual search tool that should make it a lot easier to identify specific items in pins.

Google is escalating the latest arms race in Silicon Valley: artificial intelligence. Called machine learning, it's software that learns as it processes massive amounts of data.

It was reported back in 2013 that Snapchatrejected a $3 billion bid from Facebook to buy the photo and video social media company. Now, two years later, that decision is looking increasingly justified, as Snapchat has reached 6 billion video views per day, according to theFinancial Times, trailing just behind Facebook's 8 billion.
