Mobile Minutes: Facebook app; NFL and Snapchat; BlackBerry blooms; Apple, Samsung face off

Facebook did it again: The social network?s mobile app was once again the most-used app for U.S. smart phone users in 2015, attracting close to 128 million monthly users on average this year, according to new data released by Nielsen this week.

The National Football League is deepening its relationship with Snapchat.

BlackBerry on Friday reported a smaller quarterly loss and its first quarter-to-quarter rise in revenue in over two years, sending its stock soaring as much as 12.6 percent, as its pivot to software begun to bear fruit.

With mobile payments seen as one of the biggest areas of growth for smartphone companies in the coming years, it is no surprise to see Apple and Samsung have both signed deals with China's state-run credit and debit card processing network, UnionPay, to launch their respective services in the world's biggest smartphone market in 2016.
