NYC & Co. partners with American Express for holiday campaign featuring mobile

NYC & Co. has partnered with American Express to support local business and engage New Yorkers and visitors with special year-end offers Dec. 1-24.

As part of the campaign, consumers can provide their mobile numbers and opt in for text messages with additional savings, exclusively from American Express.

?Consumers are getting information from tons of different sources, print, online, digital, mobile, and it is crucial to any marketing plan to include all of them to reach the largest audience possible,? said Emily Mayrath, senior manager of communications at NYC & Co., New York.

?The goal is to have a wide reach and a broad audience and mobile is an important element of achieving those goals,? she said. ?In addition, in the Get More holiday AmEx offer the mobile element allows consumers to get the savings offers on the go.

?They don?t have to be at their home in front of a computer.?

NYC & Company is the official marketing, tourism and partnership organization for the City of New York, dedicated to maximizing travel and tourism opportunities throughout the five boroughs

Holiday perks
The campaign offers offers New Yorkers and visitors cash back opportunities at more than 200 select retailers across the city such as H&M, Jonathan Adler, 55DSL, DeNatale Jewelers, Fishs Eddy, J&R, Nickel Spa, Super Runners Shop and Toys "R" Us.

Eligible American Express Card members will receive a $50 statement credit when they spend $250 or a $100 statement credit when they spend $500 at participating New York City stores.

The Get More NYC holiday campaign is part of "See More. Be More. This is New York City," a yearlong multi-faceted marketing campaign launched by NYC & Co. in June to provide momentum to the tourism industry.

The campaign includes promotional packages from corporate partners including special American Express Card member benefits, enticing citywide winter hotel deals, American Airlines flight discounts and sweepstakes as well as Dora the Explorer and Travelocity itineraries.

NYC & Co.'s Get More NYC partners include American Express, AT&T, YP.com, Travelocity and Dora the Explorer. Get More NYC is a year-long domestic and international campaign supported by $30 million in media value that fully integrates dining, shopping, arts, culture, museums, comedy, hotels, Broadway, transportation and attractions by providing exclusive offers and savings for visitors and locals.

In the coming months NYC & Co. will announce additional Get More NYC offers for January and February plus a first-ever Broadway Week where theater fans can purchase two-for-one tickets.
