Aerosmith drummer challenges fans with new app

Celebrity services company Paid Inc. teamed up with Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer to challenge iPhone fans' drumming skills with a new application.

The company created the Hit Hard application with Kramer. The application challenges fans to compete with one another to repeat the drummer?s beats.

?Aerosmith and Joey Kramer have always been about connecting with their fans in the most cutting-edge ways and this new application is another step in that direction, which consistently continues to support the band in reaching their fans in whatever platforms, technologies and methods they are using,? Keith Garde, president of Paid Inc., Boston.

?Hit Hard delivers not just a great experience, but an experience that is unique to Joey, which best assures that Joey will reach as many people as possible,? he said.

?The hands-on nature of percussion and the undeniable competitiveness of drummers challenging each other to knock out a beat dovetailed perfectly for creating the application."

Paid Inc. is a brand management and marketing resource company to music, entertainment and sports personalities and organizations.

For users that do not want to compete with Kramer?s beats, they can create their own beats in a freestyle play. According to the company, the application features original drum beats created and laid down by Kramer.

?Certainly the Aerosmith fan base, gamers and drummers are obvious audience,? Mr. Garde said. ?However, this game targets any and all iPhone users.

?The game is designed to be exciting and challenging to the skilled player, yet still be enticing and accessible to the beginner,? he said.

Music levels
Each level in the game consists of a mock lesson from the drummer where users can tap the correct sequence to match his beat.

After a user completes all 15 levels, they will receive a personalized message from Kramer.

Users can check the leader board which shows the players who have come closest to matching Kramer.

Players who have finished all the levels, can enter the high score contest for a chance to win a prize from Kramer.

Although the application is currently only available for the iPhone and iPod touch, the company is looking into expanding it into other smartphone platforms

?[Our] development team is in the process of developing game play applications to accommodate every musical experience and more,? Mr. Garde said.

?Hit Hard players have lots of opportunity to be handsomely rewarded for various levels of achievement, such as a crash cymbal autographed by Joey,? he said.

?It provides an unequalled platform for fan-to-fan and fan-to-artist interaction, specifically developed to encourage hyper-engagement.?
