Pandora, Apple, IBM: News briefs

Pandora grows quarterly revenue 117pc year-over-year
Pandora?s record quarterly revenue of $67 million grew 117 percent year-over-year.

Additionally, the company saw a record amount of total listener hours of 1.8 billion, which grew 125 percent year-over-year.

This resulted in a record share of total U.S. radio listening of 3.6 percent.

In addition, Pandora saw mobile advertising revenue increase to approximately half of total advertising revenue.

Apple, Samsung continue Galaxy Tab legal battle in Australia
Apple and Samsung are due to meet in court today after weeks of legal disputes over the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia.

Several weeks ago, Apple filed a case against Samsung in Sydney, alleging design infringements in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

According to the complaint there are similarities, such as the slide-to-lock and the pinch/zoom.

Apple has requested an injunction on the devices until the matter was resolved, which it achieved in getting.

IBM debuts hybrid cloud service for businesses
IBM has rolled out a new service that helps clients reduce the time it takes to connect, manage and secure public and private clouds.

The service provides live feeds of order data changes to the company?s sales reps on any device, including mobile phones, tablets and laptops.

The new service features control and management resources that define policies, quotas and limits.
Additionally, the service features application integration and dynamic provisioning.
