eBay cuts 325 PayPal positions
Despite PayPal?s mobile transaction volume continues to grow, the company itself is getting smaller, with  eBay yesterday announcing plans to eliminate 325 jobs at the alternative payments division and end contracts with approximately 120 contracts.

The cutbacks are the result of a reorganization spearheaded by PayPal?s new head David Marcus, who is consolidating nine product groups into a single organization with an eye toward speeding up product development.

PayPal is seeing strong growth from mobile and expects to do over $10 billion in mobile payments volume this year as more consumers use PayPal mobile to pay and more retailers offer PayPal solutions.
