Go2Media debuts presidential election mobile site

Mobile content, search and directory service Go2 Media launched go2 Elections '08, a mobile Web site offering coverage of the 2008 presidential elections.

The go2 Elections '08 site at http://race08.go2.com claims to be the first mobile news site focused entirely on this year's presidential elections.

"Go2 Elections '08 provides bipartisan information and news that pertains to the presidential race in the U.S.," said Rob Adler, CEO of go2, Boston.

"No matter what a mobile user's political stance is, the presidential election is an event that only comes every four years, and mobile technology has evolved well enough since the last election to really deliver exciting content and news to people who want to stay connected," he said.

Go2 Elections '08 is another new content channel consistent with go2's overall strategy of combining content from partners with that of its network of mobile correspondents.

Content from leading news sources will be featured on the election site, in addition to constant coverage of the national Democratic and Republican campaigns throughout the election season.

A feature of the mobile site is College Campus Political Buzz, profiles of the candidates from each party and content from the politics blog Horserace.

Go2 Elections '08 is available for free on any Web-enabled mobile phone in the United States.

Go2 is currently ranked by Nielsen Mobile as one of the top 20 mobile Web sites in the U.S., with mobile phone users accessing go2 more than 2 million times each month.

Since 2001, go2 claims to have delivered more than 1 billion WAP page views of local content to mobile phone users across U.S. carriers. The company's professional services division is now working with content partners to package content for distribution on the mobile Web.

"Go2 has worked diligently to develop its content channels based on what consumer demand is driving," Mr. Adler said.

"With more than a million users a month using go2 to access everything from movie times to X Games content to college campus information, we know today's mobile user is looking for 24/7 access to what is happening in their world," he said.
