AOL tailors iPad magazine content to readers

AOL has rolled out an exclusive daily magazine for iPad devices that delivers a customized experience for each individual user.

Editions, the free daily tablet magazine, was developed by AOL?s mobile-first team. The magazine is tailored to interests of each of its users and available for free download in Apple?s App Store.

According to AOL, Editions leverages a set of algorithms and takes all of the user?s actions into account, such as opening an article to adding a new interest.

Every morning, readers will receive a unique 30-40 page magazine tailored to their specific interests.

Every Edition features a cover, a list of top articles and a final page that features a user?s daily horoscope.

The tablet magazine includes a total of 15 topics that users can choose from such as design, technology, business, family, health and fitness, sports, entertainment and travel.

Reader?s choice
Readers can also edit each section to include their favorite companies, teams, celebrities and sources.

The magazine features localized news and weather and includes a built-in calendar that syncs with Facebook and iCal to display important events, meetings and birthdays.

Users can also customize their reading experience by changing the font sizes and color options.
